This year I will not be making any Halloween costumes. My kids decided to give me a year off. Woohooo! lol We have decided as a family to work on Halloween decorations. The process of making a Harry Potter Mandrake root was worth every minute I spent creating it. I must admit that this is the first time I have ever used model magic. I was nervous as I wasn’t sure of how well it would be able to hold due to the weather changing. Morning frost can make any outdoor project go terribly wrong. I decided to go with the good ol’ “wait and see” method. Today is October 15th and it still has not come apart. I will glaze the project tomorrow and see how long it can last. (Fingers crossed)
Supplies: Newspapers/bags, foil paper, Model Magic, acrylic paint (varnish optional)
Make the shape that you want and use Masking tape to hold the shape. Add clay and shape it to your liking. (It gets softer as you handle it) It sticks together well so be careful when adding details. Paint and varnish at the end.
